LISTENING SESSION W/ DOE ABOUT MVSD-SPED

Merrimack Valley School District is currently undergoing program approval and general supervision monitoring through the NH Department of Education and the Bureau of Special Education Support.

As part of that process, PIC is partnering with the Bureau of Special Education Support to conduct Family and Caregiver listening sessions to learn more about the district's strengths and challenges from a parent perspective.

Time for Transition: Charting the LifecourseTM - Planning for a Good Life after High School

Charting the LifecourseTM was created to help individuals and their families to develop a vision for a full, meaningful, life for that person and for their family. The information and tools support effective conversations, planning and problem solving. When used during transition planning, Charting the LifecourseTM helps the student express their idea of meaningful life outcomes, promotes advocacy and decision-making, for family, school and other partners to creatively and collaboratively plan together.

When our children are preparing to leave high school, we want all hands-on deck to help plan for what comes next. The NH Department of Education and Bureau of Developmental Services are working together with families and students in need of developmental disability services to build a strong plan and foundation before leaving high school. Join us to learn more about how the transition process develops a network of student and family supports and resources that make community presence and participation a reality.
